I decided to focus on the Mindset of Filipinos themselves. Let me explain why I chose the mindset of Flipinos before you leap to any conclusions about why I'm doing this. Filipinos are known in the World for being hard workers, and many of them travel abroad to give their families a better life. However, most of the time, the family members who remained in the Philippines have the mentality that if one of their relatives becomes an OFW, their life must be always easy. Despite the fact that they were unaware of the hardships an OFW member endured simply to send them money to support them. Being an OFW is not wrong, but the toxic mindset of the Filipino culture has always troubled me because I felt bad for those Filipinos who went through domestic abuse or worse, were killed by their own employer, and their family members back home simply didn't know what really happened to them. For this reason, I want the toxic mindset of Filipinos to be eliminated so that the OFW can feel at ease knowing that their family back home always supports them and does not abandon them when things went wrong abroad. When Filipinos will send a balikbayan box they always assume something expensive will be inside and that's why I chose the mentality of the Filipinos for always assuming something expensive will be sent for them.
