Do you agree that words are "the finest of weapons"? Do you think this is applicable today? Give examples to prove your answers.

Words, in my opinion, are always the finest weapons because, in addition to the fact that it might be painful to tell someone the truth, we frequently react out at people when we are angry or depressed. This is why we should always exercise caution while speaking to others because one slip of the tongue can completely alter the course of someone's life. For example, if you are upset and someone comforts you, but you don't like it when they do so, you can brust out at them with harsh words, which might end their friendship with you.

Philippine Diaspora- In the story titled "Turban Legend", identify funny Filipino culture in a form of a short punchline or short script, and discuss why this culture should be vanished for Filipinos.

I decided to focus on the Mindset of Filipinos themselves. Let me explain why I chose the mindset of Flipinos before you leap to any conclusions about why I'm doing this. Filipinos are known in the World for being hard workers, and many of them travel abroad to give their families a better life. However, most of the time, the family members who remained in the Philippines have the mentality that if one of their relatives becomes an OFW, their life must be always easy. Despite the fact that they were unaware of the hardships an OFW member endured simply to send them money to support them. Being an OFW is not wrong, but the toxic mindset of the Filipino culture has always troubled me because I felt bad for those Filipinos who went through domestic abuse or worse, were killed by their own employer, and their family members back home simply didn't know what really happened to them. For this reason, I want the toxic mindset of Filipinos to be eliminated so that the OFW can feel at e

Lechon has always been an exceptional meal for me; not just because of its delicious flavor and crispy exterior, but also because of its fascinating history. Without the Spaniards, Filipinos would not have been able to enjoy a mouthwatering bite of the magnificent Lechon. Lechon was first developed in Spain and was a favorite of the Spanish when they colonized the Philippines more than 300 years ago. Lechon became well-known in the Philippines because it is a staple at every Filipino home on special occasions like birthdays, awards ceremonies for accomplishments like winning an academic competition or passing a board exam, and fiestas. Without the Lechon, our household every celebrate would always be empty, that is why Lechon is important to us because it provides happiness to every Filipino no matter where they are in the world.

Anecdotes- In the story "Preludes" pick a song that could be related to the situation of Nenita and her husband. Write the connection of this song based on its lyrics

Image
Selena Gomez's song Kill em with Kindness has a line that I thought might be related to the Preludes.  "Your lies are bullets, your mouth's a gun No war and anger was ever won Put out the fire before igniting Next time you're fighting Please, kill 'em with kindness Kill 'em with kindness Kill 'em, kill 'em, kill 'em with kindness". This shows the idea that the husband used dishonesty to cover up the terrible evil he had committed, and that he used his mouth like a weapon to spew the lies he told Nenita. Because Nenita recognized the sins her husband had committed on a deep level and was neither angry nor in love with him, wars and conflicts caused by anger were never successful. So, to make her plan work, she poisoned her husband while she was caring for him by pretending that she was nursing him. That concludes my review of the song lyrics' possible relation to the novel Preludes.

Poetry- Desiderata- write a blog entry about the poem Answer how it made you feel while reciting and how it affects your views and insights as an individual

I recognized actual words from Max Ehrmann's composition when I recited the Desiderata. Because of this poem, I realized that we should be able to adapt to and understand our surroundings and the people we interact with, because by doing so we can achieve peace without hurting or being insensitive to others, and in honor to make them respect me, I should respect them also even though it'll make me wrong. Even though it was a long recitation, I was able to understand what the author meant by the poem. He made sure that it was for all the people in this world to relate to his poem. This poem also, shows the value of life, being spiritually and physically strong can help you conquer your fear and it also shows that you must pick the right choice in order to help you shape your future. I really admired how he make the poem have a deep meaning for the reader to reflect on what he/she just picked up from the poem and how it will change the insights of the readers or individuals.
